BIOGRAPHY

Emily Wang began her dance training in Houston, Texas at Mitsi Dancing School and Dance of Asian America, where she studied ballet, modern, and traditional Chinese dance. During her time there, she was greatly influenced by teachers Dominic Walsh, Shizu Yasuda, and Zulfiya Aubakirova. At age 16, she joined the Houston Ballet Academy, where she was taught by incredible faculty including Kelly Myernick Kubin and Susan Bryant. Emily continued to further her dance training by attending the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and is on her way to obtain a BFA in contemporary dance. With teachings from internationally acclaimed faculty such as Kurt Douglas, Brian McGinnis, and Daniel Pelzig, Emily presently studies multiple modern techniques, ballet, Gaga, and a variety of somatic and pedagogical courses. During her dance education, she has had the opportunity to work with Victor Quijada, Thang Dao, Crystal Perkins, Robin Aren, and others. Outside of school, Emily has attended intensives with Joy Alpuerto Ritter, Oleg Stepanov, Hubbard Street, and RUBBERBAND.
